Hi-TEK (High Traditional Ecological Knowledge) Learning Journey
Theme: Traditional wisdom meets modern application
Black Sustainability Inc. is entering its 10th year of service and steadfast solutions for a greener future led by a global network of Afrikan sustainability practitioners. To culminate a decade of immersive education, the Black Sustainability Network (BSN) is gathering for knowledge exchange among global leaders at the annual Black Sustainability Summit. We will meet in Ghana West Africa for a Hi-TEK Learning Journey and tour starting at the Kweku Andoh Sustainability Institute (KASI) in collaboration with HABESHA, Inc.’s Dzozome Festival on Oct.15-27, 2025.

The Black Sustainability Hi-TEK (High Traditional Ecological Knowledge) Learning Journey offers a chance for local and international attendees to exchange indigenous wisdom and modern strategies to address global climate issues rooted in Afrikan culture. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with leaders, practitioners and take a sustainability tour of local Ghanian projects that highlight the intersection of heritage and innovation, fostering impactful solutions for environmental and social sustainability worldwide.
Throughout the journey, travellers will engage with local environmental leaders, community innovators, and cultural ambassadors to gain firsthand insights into how traditional wisdom has been harnessed for centuries to maintain balance with nature. Through this unique fusion of ancient wisdom and practical sustainability practices, we will explore sustainable agriculture, alternative energy solutions, waste innovations, and wholistic health initiatives.
The Learning Journey kicks off in alignment with a two-day Dzozome festival. Here BSI will host hands-on workshops with environmental experts and indigenous leaders. Following the festival, a 10 day sustainability + cultural tour of Ghana’s rich ecological stewardship history exploring some of the region’s most naturally beautiful landscapes, historic attractions, and presentations by local Black Sustainability Network members leading sustainable solutions. Key experiences include visits to sustainable farms, ecological reserves, vibrant market places, and renewable energy projects, along with cultural immersions that showcase the importance of environmental preservation in African traditions.
By the end of the Hi-TEK Learning Journey, attendees will leave empowered with a deeper understanding of the role that traditional ecological knowledge plays in today’s global sustainability movement and equipped with actionable strategies to implement back home in their own communities. Join us as we embark on this transformative journey to deepen our cultural connection and knowledge exchange, and continue the movement toward a more sustainable future.
