Yeamah Brewer is a leader whose vision, discipline, and commitment to collective liberation have helped shape the organization into what it is today. With more than 15 years of experience across environmental policy, public health, community engagement, and grants management, Yeamah brings both strategic rigor and ancestral consciousness to the work of sustainability.


As a proud daughter of Liberia and Sierra Leone, Yeamah’s leadership is deeply informed by the realities and resilience of the African diaspora. Her work is guided by the understanding that sustainability is cultural, economic, political, and intergenerational.


Before co-founding Black Sustainability, Inc., Yeamah spent over a decade working within local government, mainstream institutions, and international NGOs in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. There, she built a strong foundation in program design, cross-sector collaboration, and community-centered policy implementation. These experiences sharpened her ability to translate vision into systems, and ideals into institutions.


When Yeamah joined forces with Atlanta-based organizers of the Black Sustainability Summit, she helped transform a powerful convening into a sustainable, mission-driven organization. As a co-founder of Black Sustainability, Inc., Yeamah played a pivotal role in formalizing the organization’s structure, strengthening its operational backbone, and guiding its long-term strategic direction.


Her leadership has been central to building the internal systems, governance, and planning frameworks that allow BSI to grow with integrity and purpose. In her roles as Director of Operations and Board Secretary, Yeamah has steered organizational development with care,ensuring that BSI’s expansion remains rooted in accountability, transparency, and community impact. Her contributions have helped position Black Sustainability, Inc. as a trusted voice and connector within the broader sustainability, equity, and climate justice ecosystem.


Yeamah's work continues to evolve at the forefront of impact investing (ESG), net-positive development, and decentralized philanthropy (DePhi), emerging models that reimagine how capital and power can be redistributed to support community-led solutions. Her approach challenges extractive systems and champions regenerative pathways that honor both people and the planet.


Looking forward, Yeamah is deeply committed to expanding the reach of Black Sustainability, Inc. across the African continent and throughout the global African diaspora. Her vision is one of bridge-building,connecting ancestral wisdom with modern sustainability practices, and aligning economic systems with cultural and ecological stewardship!
